These distributors feature self-lubricating bushes and a Super Duty Cap & Rotor. The mechanical & vacuum advances are adjustable. The non vacuum distributor features heavy duty points for extended rpm. Dual points increase coil output. Ideal for high performance Street. For most V8 engines 1955 on, except 348, 409 and tall block engines.Use with 12v coil PP-BY72350, bracket PP-BY8213 & ballast resistor PP-BY72390. Points gap .022”. Dwell, insert piece of cardboard in one set of points, set dwell on other set to 26 , repeat procedure for other set. Total dwell 33 +/- 2.

Based on a CNC machined billet housing, with the main shaft running in an upper ball bearing, and a lower bush for maximum stability & rpm. Fitted with a ”male connector” cap incorporating a wire retainer [removeable] - 20% more cross-fire resistant. Easy to adjust mechanical [extra springs supplied] and vacuum advance. In cases where the vacuum advance is not required, a vacuum advance eliminator conversion plate is supplied. Use with: PP-BY29216 coil, PP-BY700 resistor, PP-BY8213 bracket.
Easy 3 wire hookup. Red is 12v, green is the negative side of the coil, and brown must have a very good earth. Ideal for high performance Street. Do not use with a worn or poor condition alternator. Using PP-BY29351 ”Active power filter” will help protect the module from voltage spikes.

Mallory

Replaces the points in a single point GM & Mallory dual point distributors. Thereby converting the distributor to a maintenance free, breakerless electronic ignition system. Better starting, more accurate timing [cylinder to cylinder] & improved performance.

New from MSD, in their value-line brand of ignition. Built from all new parts, has coated weights and welded weight pins. Vacuum advance is adjustable. Not for Racing. Cap: PP-BY8411. Rotor: PP-BY8410.

Designed for race engines, using a crank triggered ignition. This gives rock steady ignition timing, making accurate tuning much easier, giving more power! Height-approx 2-7/8” to 3-3/4” above the inlet manifold seating position, & diameter approx 5-3/8”. The housing is precision machined on a CNC machining centre. Two o-rings are fitted at the bottom of the housing to control oil pressure loss. A small bleed hole sprays oil on the distributor gear. There is an adjustable slip collar, giving about 7/8” to obtain correct messing depth. The crab cap uses Dupont Rynite material for optimum performance, & incorporates spark plug type terminals. Requires MSD-Use with- PP-BY6420/PP-BY8980/PP-BY8202/PP-BY8213/PP-BY8610/PP-BY73225 minimum.

The Mallory Marine distributor features: a Super Duty cap and rotor, self lubricating bushings, & Mylar insulation provides greater protection against current leaks & shorting. The marine cap uses a special gasket to contain any explosive fumes. The special stabilized point design virtually eliminates the possibility of point bounce and allows more time for coil saturation, increasing voltage output from the coil. A High Dielectric Strength Condensor with a Brass Case provides greater protection against current leaks and shorting.

This distributor is self contained, & ready to run. It does not need an external box. It is not for engines with an ECU. Three wires to connect, high output module. Adjustable mechanical advance, flame arrestor holes in housing.

The MSD Pro-billet Marine distributor is the strongest & most accurate distributor you can put in your boat. The housing is CNC machined from 6061-T6. An oversize steel shaft is guided by a sealed ball bearing and an extra long sintered bushing. A QPQ coating provides a corrosion resistant & friction reducing seal to the shaft. The distributor cap is bolted to the aluminium base. There are two flame arrestor holes with brass screens machined into the base of the distributor, to prevent ignition of petrol fumes. A weathertight connector provides a water resistant connection. Certified for standards set by the US Coast guard. No vacuum advance. Requires MSD [PP-BY6460]. Standard rotation. Cap: PP-BY8565.
