Sumps for Chevy

Painted steel sumps for pre 1980 engines with a drivers side dipstick. Fits most chassis except 1962-67 Chevy II, Chevelles with steering linkage behind the crossmember, and Vega/Monza.

Standard depth right & left turn baffled sump for X-member clearance in 1978 and newer G body GM chassis, & 1970 and up F body. Cannot be used with crossover exhaust.

Any racing where the vehicle turns in one direction only, requires a special sump. The Moroso units listed below, are designed for this use, and the features are listed below.
Features: Wet sump, 7 US quart capacity, 7-1/8” deep, right side kick out for more H.P. , 5 trap door baffles for oil control, louvered windage tray system, accepts most starter & flywheel combinations, oil level sight plug, accepts 3.8” stroke with steel conrods.
Pickups: Use with 3/4” pickup PP-BY24318 and Melling Race pump BY10552C.

Standard depth chrome plated oil pans come complete with drain plug, washers and bolts. Chrome plated dipsticks with tubes are sold seperately.

These painted sumps fit pre 1980 engines w/drivers side dipstick.
The supplied crankshaft wiper, sandwiched between block and sump, enhance oil control and performance even further.
Application: Fits Bracket racers and budget Super Stock cars with minor chassis modifications necessary.
Features: All aluminium construction. This kickout sump provides maximum capacity with excellent oil control. Baffle with swinging trap door keeps oil contained in the pickup area. Includes a installed unidirectional windage tray. 7 qts + filter capacity. Starter/Flwwheel: standard starter w/168T or Tilton style w/153T.
Pickups: Use BY24170 with a std pump or a race pump or Pickup PP-BY24350 with a High Volume oil pump.

Build a sump with a U-Weld-It kit, for experienced welders only.
Features: Has 5 trap door baffles to control oil in lh & rh turns under racing conditions. The kit is adaptable to most standard oil sumps. They also include a fitting for an oil temperature sending unit.
Pickups: Use U-Weld-It extended pickup PP-BY24861.

The teflon coated steel windage tray is louvered to shield the crankshaft from unwanted oil, reducing horsepower loss. The tray also improves drainback for oil thrown from the crankshaft at high engine speeds. Fits all Moroso sumps, may need trimming to fit some standard sumps. Large holes in tray are for dipstick. Studs may need to be shortened.

Primarily for drag racing applications this baffle can be used in high performance street engines to prevent sump oil from reaching the crankshaft during hard acceleeration. The baffle mounts between the rear main bearing cap and the oil pump or pump extension. Baffles must be trimmed to fit oil sump.

This wiper will remove oil that collects on the crankshaft that subsequently causes power loss. Must be trimmed to fit within .045” of the con rods and counterweights, this operation is simplified since the wiper comes prefitted so that only slight amounts of material must be removed.

12 point head bolts come with precision ground hardened washers. The 300 series stainless material is not affected by extreme heat, eliminating the possibility of retempering.

This plug will retain any metal particles floating around with the oil. The end result should be longer engine life. Complete with washer.
